Happy Labor Day to all. This has been one of the very best summers of my life. Seriously. And it’s appropriate to reflect on the summer on Labor Day as the past three months for me have been nothing if not laborious. In other words, I did a lot. How much?

You might not believe some of the numbers I quote here. Rest assured: they are facts. Verifiable. If you prefer, I could pay the accounting firm of PriceWaterhouseCoopers to certify these numbers. Or I can give you a peek at my laptop’s hard drive. But short of that, suspend your disbelief for around 1,300 words. It’s all true. Here’s the headline:
